Residential Projects
Oliver Street
This new beach side home in Humarock, MA replaced an older, 1 ½ story home that sat on this tight site. As with many beachside properties in this area, we could only rebuild using the footprint of the existing home.
This new home sits atop an engineered wood pile foundation system. The open 1st floor living, kitchen and dining area has views out the river while the ocean is visible out to east from the glass lined main staircase and 2nd and 3rd floor windows. The 2nd floor bedroom has access to a quiet deck overlooking the river.
Neck Road – Lakeside Cottage
This existing 1920’s stone cottage, which sits along the edge of the lake, had been unoccupied for years. The client’s vision was to bring this 5 acre waterfront property back to life.
We thoughtfully expanded and renovated the existing main house into a warm, inviting year round home. A new guest house and carriage house were also designed for the 5 acre site. The existing beach area was restored creating a secluded spot for living and entertaining.
Falmouth Airpark Home
This new 3800 SF home with an attached aircraft hangar is situated along a private airstrip. The home takes advantage of views to the wooded conservation area along the adjacent grass taxiway and runway.
The front of the home and garage were designed to have a smaller scale and charm upon approach and viewing from the road. The home features an open first floor kitchen, dining, living area situated off a formal main hallway. On the second floor, there is a large master bedroom suite with a roof deck that overlooks the runway.
Duxbury Beach House
This new, energy efficient home was designed to meet or exceed strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and earned Energy Star for Homes Certification upon completion.
The new 2 1/2 story cottage replaces an older one story cottage that occupied the site. The existing footprint had to be reused in order to conform to zoning regulations.
The first floor features open living, dining and kitchen area. The second floor consists of the master bedroom and bathroom area. The third floor contains two guest bedrooms and a guest bathroom. All three floors are filled with natural light and offer views out to both Duxbury Bay and the ocean.
Duxbury – Addition and Renovation
The existing colonial style home underwent an extensive addition and renovation.
The addition contained a new family room, mudroom and powder room on the first floor. The existing first floor kitchen was also remodeled so that it tied into the new addition and an informal eating area. The new family room opens onto a large deck with connects the indoors to the outdoors.
The second floor of the new addition contains the new master bedroom suite which includes a new master bedroom, master bathroom, walk-in closet and laundry room.
Harwich Cottage
This new 1200 SF, two story cottage replaces an older one story cottage that occupied this site. The existing footprint had to be reused in order to conform to zoning regulations.
The first floor features open living, dining and kitchen area. The second floor consists of two bedrooms and a full bathroom. An ample amount of windows and doors were used to open up the first floor to the site.
Duxbury Family Room and Kitchen
The existing home underwent an extensive renovation which included a remodeled kitchen and a new family room.
The existing kitchen was cramped and dark so the goal of the new design was to open up the home with natural light and to the large side yard. The new family room has a covered porch along with a two tiered deck which connects the indoors to the outdoors. There was also a new covered entry designed for the front of the home. The existing entry foyer was redesigned to offer more space upon entry as well as a new mudroom off to the side of the new foyer.
Easton Sunroom Addition
This project consisted of a new sunroom and deck addition to an existing colonial style home.
The sunroom and deck were designed to give a feeling of openness and connection to the rear yard. The sunroom is heated by a gas stove and radiant panels mounted on the ceiling. Large windows on two sides of the sunroom focus the view toward the woods beyond.
